Boat name: Fruition: noun. enjoyment, as of something attained or realized.
Length: 48′
Model: CHB Sea master 1987
Why did you buy the boat? Jim- Retirement; travel, view from different angle than road RV. Read the book, “honey, let’s get a boat“, 8 year plan, joined USPS, Sue- Travel bug, always interested in history, sight, sounds, adventure, option as opposed to buying an RV.
What do like most about the boat?
Sue: layout, size, dependability of cat engines, lots of storage, solid, heavy
Jim: layout, size, well built, Ss run rail with teak backing
After 4 year perspective, is the boat as you envisioned when you bought it? First 2 years were spent upgrading deferred maintenance issues, 2 nd two years more manageable
Did it shrink? Jim- NO, well, from a handling perspective yes, we have no problem now going through locks. Sue- after several trips I am no longer intimated with docking the boat. I drive the boat and Jim takes care of the lines.
What have learned since purchase that will influence your next purchase? next purchase? we love our boat! Need good broker & good survey, even with many years boating experience, others see things that you may not.
What ways did team Murray Yacht Sales add value to the process?
Sue: MLS, setting up appointments, MYS did a great job evaluating needs and wants, providing with options that we did not consider, described the process well, gave good advice, patient, read Jim well, personality assessment.
Jim: showed up when we hauled the boat first time after sale, trusted opinion, helped with state registration and sales tax (mutilple states), regional knowledge helps, always available after the sale for advice.
Both: kept us focused on the big picture
Closing thoughts:
Sue- One fear that I would be seasick. Don’t be afraid to try it!
Jim- Book learning is one thing & power squadron was great. We chartered a trawler to get hands on experience, the charter confirmed it for us.
