I received an advance copy of Sail Magazine (August 2015) last week since I was interviewed for the article “The Big Easy” -Discover Sailing in New Orleans by Christopher White.  If you are not a regular reader of Sail, I suggest that you pick up a copy of the August 2015 addition.  The 88 pages are fill with interesting content including Chris White’s well written story.

Charlie Doane has a in-depth review of my friend Jimmy Cornell‘s new project, the award winning Garcia Exploration 45, which Jimmy was kind enough to walk me through at the Annapolis Sailboat Show in October.  Charlie joyfully describes the boat while sailing her from Florida to Panama, tough work.  I recommend attending one of Jimmy’s seminars or reading one of his books as he has more than 200,000 miles under his keel and loves sharing his experiences.

On page 11 I learned that Albert Einstein was a sailor, could not swim, and that is boat Tummler was confiscated by the Nazis in 1933 after he fled to the United States.

In the “Just Launched” section the Beneteau First 22 is profiled along with seven other models.

God bless Andy Howe and his story on the composting head he uses.  I am not open minded enough for this one yet.

Enjoy the Read
